Our Shepherd Huts are constructed with precision, using only the highest quality materials to ensure strength, insulation, and durability.

Base Construction:

The base is made from 18mm hardwood ply with a CLS 50x76mm (3×2) treated timber framework, fully insulated with 50mm Kingspan. It’s topped with 18mm moisture-resistant chipboard tongue and groove flooring, providing a solid foundation ready for your final flooring choice.

Walls:

The walls are built using the same high-quality CLS 50x76mm treated timber, filled with either Earth Wool insulation as standard, or upgraded to Sheep’s Wool for a more eco-friendly, natural option. The interior walls are then finished with Butt & Bead cladding, creating a beautiful, rustic look.

Exterior Construction:

The exterior is lined with 11mm Stirling (OSB) board and a breathable membrane, ensuring a weather-tight structure. The final cladding option is entirely up to you—choose from Feather Edge, Waney Edge, Tongue & Groove, or Wrigley Tin Cladding (our standard option). Timber cladding is available as an upgrade.

We believe the chassis is the most important part of any build; without a solid foundation, you have nothing. That’s why, here at Lincolnshire Shepherd Huts, we’ve designed some of the strongest and most reliable steel chassis on the market.

At the heart of every Lincolnshire Shepherd Hut lies a chassis engineered for exceptional strength, balance, and stability. Each one is constructed from either 100×50mm box steel with a 4mm wall or 50×50mm box steel with a 4mm wall, depending on the size and style of the hut.

Every towable steel chassis features a 600mm to 900mm circular turntable, complete with a drawbar for towing into position, allowing for effortless movement and precise placement during installation.

For those seeking something truly traditional, we also craft solid oak chassis with authentic cast-iron wheels, combining heritage style with timeless craftsmanship. In addition, a standard rolling chassis is available for on-site builds, offering flexibility and practicality for permanent installations.

This meticulous level of construction provides complete confidence in the strength, safety, and longevity of every hut — built to withstand the elements and stand strong for generations to come.

Crafted Above with Care

A roof built for strength, style, and lasting protection.

The ceiling of each Lincolnshire Shepherd Hut is expertly formed from 18mm curved hardboard, supported by 3×2 CLS cross beams to create a strong, stable structure. This is then clad in 15mm matchboard timber and finished with elegant trims, achieving a traditional yet stylish interior finish.

Externally, the roof and ceiling cavity are fully insulated with a reflective space blanket, followed by a breathable membrane to ensure superior thermal performance and long-term protection against the elements.

The exterior roof is finished with plastic-coated, corrugated, curved steel sheeting, offering both excellent weather resistance and a sleek, contemporary aesthetic.

For a premium upgrade, we offer curved Tulip wood exposed beams, adding a touch of natural beauty and craftsmanship to your interior. Alternatively, for those seeking a true statement feature, an enhanced roof structure with a central beam and curved spars is available, creating an exposed-beam design that’s both elegant and visually striking.

All exterior trims, including fascias, soffits, and gable ends, are crafted from Scandinavian redwood, chosen for its strength, stability, and beautifully natural grain. For those seeking an elevated finish, hardwood trims are available on request, offering a refined, luxurious touch.

Our windows and doors are crafted from Sapele, a durable and visually striking hardwood renowned for its rich colour, smooth texture, and exceptional longevity. This not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of each hut but also ensures outstanding performance against the elements.

As standard, every hut is complemented by French oak steps, handcrafted to provide a solid, elegant entrance that perfectly complements the exterior.
